Not so long ago, corporate video was very much the poor relation to broadcast TV. The production values and design were often cheap and badly executed and they had the same generic feel. These days the advent of online video and the falling costs of production means the fusty old corporate video is undergoing something of a renaissance. In the right hands that is!

Case Study – Quantar Solutions

Corporate Video Overview:
Quantar Solutions is a software development company specialising in risk management products for the financial sector. They’d be the first to admit it’s not the most glamorous subject, but given recent events, it’s an important one. With an increasing focus on risk awareness following the global recession, Quantar needed a short corporate / promotional video to accompany the launch of its risk management suite. The film would be shown on the company’s website, at conferences and given out to prospective clients on mini-DVD as part of Quantar’s information pack.

Corporate Video Treatment and Production:
Even though this video was for a B2B market, making it interesting, engaging and dynamic was still at the forefront of our minds throughout the production. The software was being pitched at multi-billion dollar corporations and in many ways was the public face of Quantar. Therefore, it had to look slick, modern and high end.

We produced two eye-catching ‘set piece’ motion graphics which we framed the promotional video around. The intro sequence featured a ‘fly through’ a computer monitor into a stylised ‘cyberspace’, represented as a cityscape of scrolling data. Visually this was designed to really capture the audience’s attention whilst setting out the need for the Software Suite. The second motion graphic was an ‘explainer’, designed to simplify how this highly sophisticated product works and maintains network security.

The live action sequences had to compliment the high end design of the motion graphics and were filmed on a Sony XDCAM HD camera with a set of film specification Cooke™ Prime lenses. To ensure a sense of movement and dynamism we also mounted the camera on a track and dolly.

Corporate Video Delivery: The video was delivered in stunning High Definition Flash video for the web and with 1000 copies on lythographed mini-DVD with art-work.
